Community Manager         

Horizons is looking for a Community Manager to join our team of dedicated young professionals. Are you a social media geek and would you like to increase Horizons’ online presence? If yes, we are looking for you! We are looking for a motivated Community Manager to make sure our social media channels are up to date and engaging users.

Requirements

  • You know how to work and how to attract people with social media.
  • You’re a team worker and love to take initiative.
  • You have prior experience managing social media pages, ideally for international NGOs.
  • You have experience using WordPress – Experience with other CMS and basic HTML code editing skills are valuable.
  • You are in line with our organization’s mission and vision and you are motivated to help Horizons achieve an increase in awareness.
  • You love to work in the field of Justice, Equality and Cultural Understanding.
  • You’re available for at least 6-8 hours a week to work for Horizons.
  • Minimum one-year commitment

Your tasks

As a Community Manager, you will work in close relationship with our Secretary & Head of Public Relations. You will update our social media channels on a daily basis (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) and you will think about innovative ways of spreading Horizons’ message. You will also write blog posts once in a month and help the Head of Public Relations Update Horizons’ website. You should be comfortable with working remotely and communicating with the rest of the team online (we do meet up face-to-face on a monthly basis).

Head of Public Relations

Horizons is looking for a new Head of public relations. As Head of Public Relations, you will be a part of the International Board of Horizons, which means that you will be part of the daily management team of Horizons. Do you think you have what it takes to lead and manage an international organization like Horizons? Send us your CV and motivational letter!

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
  • You work well in a team and love taking initiative.
  • Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail
  • You love to work in the field of Justice, Equality and Cultural Understanding.
  • You know how to work with social media and how to attract people with social media.
  • You are available for at least 6-8 hours a week to work for Horizons.

Tasks

  • Sending the newsletter to our followers on a monthly basis, to keep them updated of our activities.
  • Attend and take notes at board meetings once a month.
  • Supervise your team that posts regularly on social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter).
  • Write posts and articles on the website.
  • Update the website with Horizons events and activities.

Fundraising Manager

Horizons is looking for a Fundraising Manager. As Fundraising Manager, you are responsible for overseeing all the fundraising functions and managing the budget for Horizons. The fundraising team is one of the most important committees of Horizons. In order to execute our projects, we need financial support from donors and funds. Without a budget, we are not able to organize events that contribute to justice & equality. You will work and report directly to the Treasure.

Requirements

  • Communication skills for writing dynamic funding proposals and inspiring people to commit to the cause in question.
  • Interpersonal skills: you will be constantly interacting with people, persuading them of the value of your organization.
  • Research skills and attention to detail: sourcing information and statistics, researching trends, assessing costs
  • You are resilient, creative and flexible.
  • You love to work in the field of Justice, Equality and Cultural Understanding.
  • You are available for at least 6-8 hours a week to work for Horizons.
  • Minimum one-year commitment

Tasks

  • Develop and conduct fundraising strategies for Horizons.
  • Research and identify potential donors
  • Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors
  • Organize a campaign or event that will lead to soliciting donations
  • Document, evaluate and maintain records of donor information for future use
  • Recruit and train volunteers in fundraising procedures and practices
  • Ensure that all legal reporting requirements are satisfied.
  • Raise awareness of Horizons mission, vision and fundraising needs.

Treasurer

As Horizons’ Treasurer and one of the leading coordinators you are representing the organization to potential donors and partner organizations, and you are responsible for the financial budget of the organization. Your task is also to ensure that the organization complies with the law, especially regarding the financial aspects. You would also ensure the financial stability of the organization. You develop Horizons’ fundraising strategies, apply for funds and manage and work together with the fundraiser committee. You manage a team of fundraisers and report to the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Understanding of what it takes to get that funding secured;
  • Understanding of budgeting and accounting for the non-profit organization
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Excellent written skills in English and Dutch for writing proposals and reporting;
  • Good oral expressions skills for meeting with potential donors;
  • Initiator and a team player with a hands-on mentality
  • You love to work in the field of Justice, Equality and Cultural Understanding.
  • You’re available for at least 6-8 hours a week to work for Horizons.

Tasks

  • Take care of the organization’s financial administration
  • Set up fundraising strategies, in cooperation with the fundraising committee and fundraising manager
  • Advise on fundraising and financial strategies.
  • Recruit and train volunteers in fundraising procedures and practices
  • Ensure that all legal reporting requirements are satisfied.
  • Raise awareness of Horizons mission, vision and fundraising needs.
